Commercial Operations & Maintenance

Your solar system is a long-term investment. Protect it with professional commercial solar operations and maintenance services that keep your system performing at its peak, year after year.

Keep Your Solar Investment Working Harder for Longer

A commercial solar system that isn’t properly maintained is a system that’s quietly losing money. Underperforming panels, undetected faults, and aging components can erode your energy savings without you even knowing it. Our Preventative Maintenance and Risk Management Plan is designed to eliminate that risk, keeping your system efficient, compliant, and delivering the returns your business depends on.

Serving commercial operations across the Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic, we’re the region’s oldest and most experienced solar service provider, with NABCEP-certified technicians and a track record built since 2006. We service systems we installed and systems installed by others, including equipment from companies no longer in business.

Our Commercial Solar O&M Services

Annual Preventative Maintenance Inspections. Scheduled, comprehensive inspection of every system component, from inverters, wiring, and racking to modules, junction boxes, and weather station equipment, performed by NABCEP-certified technicians who know exactly what to look for. Every visit follows a thorough checklist covering grounds and security, inverter cleaning and performance testing (including IV curve tracing and string testing), DC and AC components, module and racking integrity, and balance of systems. Real-Time Performance Monitoring. Continuous monitoring of your system’s energy output with remote diagnostics, plus a monthly site review confirming your system is operating as expected. When performance deviates from benchmark, we know in hours, not months, and can proactively dispatch a technician. Inverter & Equipment Servicing. Inverters are the heartbeat of your solar system. Our technicians service, test, and replace inverter components to prevent failures that can take your entire system offline. unnamed 4 | Commercial Operations & MaintenanceThermal Imaging & Electrical Testing. Advanced diagnostics, including annual infrared thermography of electrical connections under operation, identify hot spots, connection issues, and panel degradation that are invisible to the naked eye, before they become failures. Warranty & Documentation Management. We interface directly with equipment manufacturers on your behalf for any warranty claims, and we keep your software updated and your maintenance records complete, so your coverage and your incentives stay protected. Corrective & Emergency Repairs. When something does go wrong, our regional teams across the Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic respond quickly. Our technicians perform as much corrective work as possible on-site, and coordinate any remaining service through our dedicated service department to minimize downtime. Cleaning & Environmental Maintenance. Soiling from dust, bird droppings, and debris can noticeably reduce panel output. Our scheduled cleaning programs restore full performance quickly and safely.

Customize Your Coverage

Every site is different, so we offer add-on services to fit your needs, including drone IR thermography for non-SolarEdge systems, panel cleaning, and vegetation management for ground-mount installations.

Frequently asked questions

What does a commercial solar system cost?
There’s no single price for commercial solar. Your total cost depends on your facility size, energy usage, demand charge reduction goals, available roof or ground space, and the incentives your organization qualifies for. Rather than quote a number that won’t fit your situation, we design every quote from the ground up and provide a transparent, custom estimate with projected savings and ROI. The goal is always the configuration that delivers the strongest financial return, which is not always the largest system.
What’s the payback period and return on investment?
Payback depends on your energy costs, system size, incentives, and financing, so we model it specifically for your facility rather than relying on a generic figure. With immediate energy savings, demand-charge reductions, and local and federal incentives available in 2026, well-structured commercial projects continue to deliver attractive long-term returns. We’ll show you a realistic, incentive-aware financial model before you commit anything.
What incentives can my business claim?
The federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) provides a 30% dollar-for-dollar credit on your qualifying project cost, and projects that meet domestic content thresholds qualify for a 10% bonus, and projects built in an energy community qualify for a 10% bonus. This makes the total possible tax credit 50%. On top of the credit, 100% first-year bonus depreciation lets you deduct your system’s depreciable cost immediately, which, together with the ITC, can recover a substantial share of the project cost in the first year. In some locations, local or utility incentives may also apply. SES identifies every program you qualify for and documents it properly.
Our organization is tax-exempt. Can we still benefit?
Yes. Nonprofits, schools, and government entities can receive the same 30-50% credit as a direct cash payment through the federal Direct Pay provision, so the incentive works whether or not your organization pays federal tax.
