Project At A Glance

Type of Installation: Pole Mount

Environmental Benefits Over 25 Years:

  • CO2 savings: 561,578 lbs
  • Equivalent CO2 in miles driven: 444,854
  • CO2 emissions from 197,538 lbs of coal

The Project

The 8.1 kW solar array at Kentucky State University array is made up of 30 Canadian Solar 270 watt panels split between 2 pole mounted units.  In its first year the array will have produced approximately 253,600 kWhs and over the 25 year guaranteed life of the system. With most solar panels projected to put out power as long as 40 years, that’s a lot of energy savings for the University for a long time.  Not to mention the benefit to the environment.
