The Ameren Illinois Distributed Generation Rebate
If your facility is served by Ameren Illinois, you may also qualify for the Distributed Generation Rebate. This is a separate utility incentive, not part of Illinois Shines, that adds to whatever the SREC program pays.
Ameren pays $300 per kilowatt of solar capacity installed for residential customers with a qualifying smart inverter, which nearly all modern systems use. A 7 kW system, for example, earns about $2,100.
And if you add battery storage, the rebate grows: Ameren also pays $300 per kilowatt-hour for qualifying energy storage. SES applies for the rebate on your behalf once your system is up and running.
