REAP Project Highlight – Print My Threads in Ashland, Kentucky

Print My Threads, a small and environmentally conscious business near Ashland Kentucky, installed a 38 kW solar array to power its T-shirt printing operations.  Over the life of the system, it will off-set 2,364,074 lbs. of CO2. That’s equivalent to 1,845,498 miles driven by the average US car.

REAP, the Rural Energy for America Program, provides grant and loan funding for agricultural producers and rural small businesses so they can install/implement renewable energy and energy efficiency upgrades. Reap grants can cover up to 25% of the total project and when you couple that with the Federal tax credit of 26% that’s a lot of savings!

Print My Threads was able to use REAP grants to offset some of the cost of going solar.  REAP combined with the federal tax credit, and lowered energy costs help rural small business, like Print My Threads to thrive and grow!
