9.43 kW Addition for Food Pantry in Bloomington, IN
Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard has been feeding Bloomington’s neighbors in need for decades — and now their commitment to the community has gotten a little help from the sun.
Made possible through Bloomington’s Solar, Energy Efficiency, and Lighting (SEEL) Program, this 2026 expansion builds on an existing solar array with 23 ZNShine Solar panels and a FranklinWH aPower 2 battery. This will lower costs and keep lights and refrigeration running when the power goes out.
Over 25 years, the addition is projected to generate 258,619 kWh and avoid over 502,000 lbs of CO2 — the equivalent of taking more than 580,000 miles of driving off the road. For an organization built on giving back, generating clean energy is just another way to make the most of what the community has entrusted to them.
