Why It Matters
Putting solar on your home or business is a significant and long-term investment. It’s likely, solar is a technology in which you are likely not an expert, so naturally, you want to feel comfortable and confident in your decision. Therefore, certifications professionals are important to your peace of mind.
Solar Energy Solutions has set out to remove those worries. Consequently, we differentiate ourselves from the competition by setting a very high and demonstrable bar for certification, training, licensing, and insurance. Ask other companies that you talk to about solar if they meet this bar?
SES holds 5 NABCEP PV certifications, more than any other company in the region. Additionally, certification is a critical part of the career path within our company. For example, you wouldn’t fly with a pilot who had no provable training, don’t trust your house and solar with its complex and high voltage electrical systems to well meaning amateurs.
NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals) trains, examines, and certifies PV installers through rigorous on the job and classroom validation. This is critical because merely possessing an electrical license will have provided no solar specific training. Moreover, the PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification is considered the gold standard for PV professionals in the renewable energy industry. It is recognized and demanded by organizations worldwide because the PVIP Board Certification validates the competence to perform in the role of PV Installation Professional, which encompasses PV design, installation, operations, commissioning, and maintenance.
Unlike nearly every other solar company, SES does not sub-contract out critical design, construction, and electrical work. Because of this, all work is done by our own 100% dedicated solar experts, not somebody who wires up a couple of installs up a year and then goes back to the day job. Ask other companies that you talk to about solar if they meet this bar or if part-timers will do your work?
SES requires all of its teams to have licensed electricians present on the job; electricians that will have either Journeyman (4 years tested experience) or Master (8 years tested experience) status. In addition to Kentucky, we hold all the required and equivalent licenses for Indiana and its many jurisdictions, Ohio, Illinois, West Virginia,
Insurance & Bonding
SES, with its residential, commercial, and utility-scale work, has ensured it has considerable insurance coverage for all scales of projects. Insurance coverage includes significant general commercial, auto, workers comp, and umbrella liability. Given our long history of commercial work we can also to self-bond as required.
